We aim to make each of our patients’ appointments fast, comfortable, and as thorough as possible, and by using the latest dental technology, we’re able to do just that. From digital X-ray imaging systems to our intraoral cameras, we can take a close look at your smile and develop accurate diagnoses and precise treatment plans to tackle issues for good. To learn more about some of the technology we use to treat patients, read below.
Our intraoral camera is a small, handheld device that we can maneuver around your mouth to gain an up-close and clear view of troublesome symptoms or areas that aren’t typically visible to the naked eye. The footage is attached to a chairside monitor, so Dr. Rojas can explain what you’re both looking at and how her recommended treatment plan will help address the issue. This device also allows us to capture still images to aid in the planning process of your treatment as well.
In the past, dentists would use film X-rays to capture images of the area of your mouth that lies below the gums. These took ages to develop, used chemicals that were harmful to the environment, and weren’t easy to store. The digital X-ray imaging system tackled all of these issues by creating digitally-transferable images of your mouth using a device that reduces radiation exposure by up to 90 percent! Digital X-rays are fast, easy, and safer for patients of all ages.
When it comes to more advanced issues or treatments, like treating TMJ dysfunction or placing dental implants, we utilize our cone beam CT scanner. This device is able to capture a 3D, panoramic blueprint of your facial structure within seconds. It’s incredibly detailed, allowing us to view the sinuses, jaws, facial nerves, and dentition. With this information, Dr. Rojas is able to precisely plan treatments to ensure ideal results and minimize the risk of any complications.
Typically, dentists will attempt to capture impressions of teeth by placing a piece of gooey putty in the mouth. Not us! We use our advanced digital impression system to build a detailed blueprint of a tooth or arch to build precisely-fitted restorations that last. Our iTero Element scanner can also detect and identify cavities. The process is fast and is significantly more comfortable, so you won’t have to worry about sitting in discomfort during any part of your procedure!
Our soft tissue laser is a neat device that looks like a small pen. It emits a concentrated beam of light out of the tip of it which can be used to kill harmful oral bacteria, reshape the gumline, or even help place the perfect crown. It immediately cauterizes the area on-contact, which drastically reduces recovery times for procedures, the risk of infection, and bleeding. It also eliminates the need for a scalpel and sutures in many procedures.
The Wand is a unique anesthesia-delivery device that carefully guides Dr. Rojas to perform pain-free dental injections. It has been shown to help patients experience less discomfort during local anesthesia administration and minimizes collateral numbness that can linger after procedures. It also greatly reduces anxiety for patients who have a fear of needles, because there won’t be a needle in sight!
